Anthony J. Plastino, II, Of Counsel, practices in the area of worker’s compensation, subrogation recovery and insurance defense. He has represented a variety of clients including insurance carriers and third party administrators, and has served as an expert in worker’s compensation related malpractice cases. Since 2013, Mr. Plastino has been certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law Section as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Mr. Plastino received his Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University in 1979, where he served as Associate Editor of the Duquesne University Law Review from 1977 to 1979. He obtained his BA degree in 1976 from Susquehanna University where he graduated summa cum laude.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Plastino started his career as an attorney advisor for the Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges in Washington, D.C. After solidifying his worker’s compensation and subrogation experience with the firms of Friedlander, Misler, Friedlander, Sloan & Herz. Robb Leonard Mulvihill, Traveler’s Insurance Co., Cigna Insurance Co. and Scarlata and Plastino, he started his own law firm in 1992. Over the years, Mr. Plastino has lectured at several seminars and conferences on the topics of workers’ compensation and insurance related topics.
Mr. Plastino is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and West Virginia. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Court Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the Duquesne University Law Alumni Association, and the South Hills YMCA Board of Management. Mr. Plastino also earned a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating in Litigation in 2016.
