Mr. Rinaldo specializes in civil trial and appellate litigation. He represents corporate, municipal and individual clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial contract and business tort litigation, trade secret, unfair competition, intellectual property and municipal authority litigation, as well as orphans’ court litigation involving trusts and estates. He has represented many clients in cases involving restrictive covenants in employment agreements, business torts, intentional interference with contractual and prospective business relations and trade disparagement. Mr. Rinaldo also has represented clients in litigation involving intellectual property claims, including patent, copyright and trademark litigation, as well as misappropriation of trade secret and confidential business information issues. He also represents clients involved in municipal rate and contract litigation and for many years has served as the Solicitor for the Municipal Authority of the City of Monongahela, located in Washington, PA.

Mr. Rinaldo received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Maryland and graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School, where he was selected for the Order of the Coif, the Boston College Law Review and the Boston College National Moot Court team. At graduation, Mr. Rinaldo received the Joseph Oteri Award for excellence in moot court activities. After graduation, Mr. Rinaldo served as law clerk to Associate Justice Ruth I. Abrams of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st, 3rd, 4th and Federal Circuits.

For more than thirty years, Mr. Rinaldo has served as Advisor to the University of Pittsburgh Law School team entered in the national Cardozo-BMI Entertainment and Media Law Moot Court Competition held annually in New York. He frequently serves as a speaker for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on a variety of civil trial and appellate topics.
