Mr. Tarantine, formerly of Tarantine & Associates, offers his clients over 30 years of complex tax, business, financial and estate planning experience. His tax expertise covers corporate tax and asset protection planning, state and local taxation issues, tax-related controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, and estate planning. His estate planning clients benefit from his special focus on business succession planning, business valuation, and forensic accounting. Mr. Tarantine’s vast business background includes mergers and acquisitions; negotiating over twenty collective bargaining agreements with the United Steel Workers and United Mine Workers Unions, as well as the United Food and Commercial Workers Union; and shareholders’ disputes.
Qualified as an expert in corporate matters, business valuations, and forensic accounting in five Pennsylvania counties, Mr. Tarantine has been a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University Schools of Law, as well as the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He has spoken on tax, estate planning, and business matters at more than forty professional seminars. Mr. Tarantine holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston School of Law. He also earned a Master of Science in Accountancy and Taxation, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, both from the University of Houston.
Mr. Tarantine is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court; U.S. Federal Court, Western District of Pennsylvania; U.S. Federal Court, Northern District of Ohio; and admitted Pro Hac Vice in Arizona; he is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations; The Institute of Business Appraisers; and the Society of Human Resources Management.
