Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Passes Rigorous Certification Process

Jones Gregg has obtained a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Program verification for Mr. Robert Moore, a veteran with a service-related disability who owns Penny’s Medical Supply, Inc., in Ambridge, PA.

Criminal Background Checks Protect Tenants and Landlords

Every landlord is expected to run criminal background checks on prospective tenants in order to protect their current residents, but much more is expected of landlords leasing federally subsidized units.

On October 4, Governor Wolf signed Act 102 of 2016, cutting the mandatory separation period for a no-fault divorce in half.

Driven by her own immigration experience when she was 6 years old, Ajla Glavasevic, an associate in Jones, Gregg’s Sharon office, aims to “go the distance to help immigrants” when she runs in the September 11th Erie Marathon.

Jones Gregg has obtained a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Program verification for Mr. Robert Moore, a veteran with a service-related disability who owns Penny’s Medical Supply, Inc., in Ambridge, PA. Mr. Moore’s medical supply and device wholesale and distribution company will now be given the VA’s highest procurement priority. Penny’s Medical Supply, Inc., will also be eligible for set aside and/or sole source contracts, as well as being available as a veteran-approved subcontractor for larger companies with government contracts seeking veteran-approved subcontracts. Serving ten counties in Western Pennsylvania, Mr. Moore’s business provides a wide range of durable medical equipment and disposable medical supplies, as well as personal emergency response units designed to call for help in the event of an emergency. Visit the company website at http://www.pennysmedical.net/ for more information.

Awarding open market procurement contracts to SDVOSB certified firms has been the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ highest priority since the SDVOSB Program was created when Congress passed Public Law 109-461 in 2006. The VA also has special authority to set aside contracts, and/or award sole source contracts to veteran-owned small business firms, with a preference for SDVOSB firms. Because this Vets First Contracting Program offers unprecedented opportunities to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, companies must pass a rigorous verification process by the Center for Verification and Evaluation to be eligible for the SDVOSB Program.

Jones, Gregg has successfully navigated the verification process to certify a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business; we can do the same for you. If you have any questions about your potential eligibility, or believe you qualify for the SDVOSB Program, contact Patrick Cassetti at 412-261-6400 or pdc@jgcg.com for more information.
